Documented .TR Domain Registration

Domains that are restricted for registration in .TR domains can be registered by submitting a document.

You must submit the required documents for companies or individuals registering domains containing the following words by entering them from your domainnameapi.com reseller panel.

  • Domains containing Turkish – Türkiye – Atatürk – TC
  • Domains containing provinces and districts
  • Banks
  • Financial leasing companies,
  • Factoring companies,
  • Financing companies,
  • Financial holding company,
  • Asset management companies,
  • Representative offices of foreign banks in Türkiye,
  • Organizations Permitted to Operate Within the Scope of Bank Cards and Credit Law No. 5654.
  • “finance”, “finance”, “financing”, “bank”, “banking”, “lease”, “leasing”, “financial leasing”, “factoring” and “factoring”
  • Insurance companies, insurance agencies (As a Corporate Extension Email Address has become mandatory for Insurance Agencies, insurance agencies must send the following documents with domain extensions such as .com.tr, .tr through the domain dealership panel.)

.TR Restricted Domain

For companies;

  • "Activity Certificate", "Commercial Registry Certificate", "Chamber Registry Record Copy" obtained from the Chamber of Commerce or trade name announcement published in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette. Activity documents must have been received for the last six (6) months.
  • "Registry Certificate" or "Commercial Registry Gazette" obtained from the Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen of Turkey

For Trademark Registration Certificate Owners;

a) Domain Name Aplication Form ,

b) "Trademark Registration Certificate" or "Trademark Application Document" obtained from the Turkish Patent Institute

c) The domain name requested must be exactly the same as the name in the trademark registration document.

d) If the Trademark Owner is an individual, a photocopy of his ID.

e) If any transfer has been made on the Trademark, the Trademark Transfer Agreement obtained from the Turkish Patent Institute must be submitted.

f) If the trademark registration certificate is in the name of more than one person, a photocopy of the identity card of each person and their signature and name must be included in the petition.

All requested domain names (domain name) must be exactly the same as the title in the document to be declared. While evaluating the documents submitted by the relevant organization to the ".tr" domain name management for the domain names to be allocated; The phrases that constitute the "distinctive" and "main element" of the trademark, trade name, etc. in the relevant document are taken as basis. The phrases that constitute the auxiliary element of the relevant title or brand and the field of activity or sector etc. are taken as basis. Defining elements are not considered essential elements.

For example; “ÖRNEK Tekstil Yatırım İthalat İhracat Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş.” It can take the domain name “ornek.com.tr” or “ornektekstil.com.tr”, which constitutes the distinctive and essential element. It cannot obtain the domain names “tekstil.com.tr”, “ithalat.com.tr”, “ihracat.com.tr”, “ticaret.com.tr”.

Note: One of the documents other than the domain name allocation form is sufficient.

“av.tr”
  • Allocated to lawyers, law firms and attorney partnerships.

1) In individual applications;;

  • An official document showing the registration of the person from the bar association of the province where they are registered or a notarized copy of this document.

2) In applications made for a law firm or attorney partnership;

  • Current documents proving that each lawyer in the office or partnership is a lawyer from the bar association of the province where he is registered, or notarized copies of these documents.

3) In the applications made by the person or persons authorized to represent the person, the law firm or the attorney partnership;

  • Document proving that the person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the person, law firm or attorney partnership.

“bel.tr”
  • Allocated to municipalities included in the records of the Ministry of Interior.
  • An official request letter signed by the competent authority of the applicant municipality is requested.

“dr.tr”
  • Allocated to medical doctors and doctor partnerships.

1) In applications made for the person of a doctor;

  • Notarized copy of the person's medical diploma or graduation certificate.

2) In applications for doctor partnership;

  • Notarized copy of diploma or graduation certificates of each person involved in the partnership.

3) In the applications made by the person or persons authorized to represent the doctor partnership;

  • Document proving that the person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the individual or doctor partnership.

“edu.tr”
  • Allocated to higher education institutions recognized by the Council of Higher Education.
  • Request letter signed by the applicant's official.
  • In applications made by the person or persons authorized to represent parties that are not public institutions and organizations, the document proving that such person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the relevant party.

“gov.tr”
  • It is allocated to public institutions and organizations.
  • An official request letter signed by the competent authority of the applicant institution or organization is requested.

“k12.tr”
  • Institutions providing pre-school education, primary education, high school and equivalent education institutions affiliated to or approved by the Ministry of National Education, and the “Private Nursery and Day Nursery Centers and Special Children's Centers” published in the Official Gazette dated 30/04/2015 and numbered 29342. It is allocated to organizations defined in the Regulation on the Establishment and Operational Principles of Clubs and approved by the relevant units of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.
  • Request letter signed by the applicant's official.
  • Notarized copy of the establishment permit issued by the competent authorities for parties that are not public institutions and organizations.
  • In applications made by a person or persons authorized to represent parties that are not public institutions and organizations, a document proving that such person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the relevant party.

“kep.tr”
  • Allocated to KEPHS authorized by the Authority.
  • Document proving that the person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the relevant KEPHS.

“pol.tr”
  • It is allocated to the General Directorate of Security and its units.
  • An official request letter signed by the competent authority of the applicant's law enforcement unit is requested.

“tsk.tr”
  • Allocated to units within the Turkish Armed Forces.
  • An official request letter signed by the competent authority of the General Staff is requested.
