TRABIS: Documented and Undocumented Domain Name Extensions

Changes will occur in domain name allocation transactions with TRABIS.

Domain names allocation with com.tr, net.tr and org.tr extensions, which were the most processed and allocated with documents in the Nic.TR period will be performed with TRABIS in accordance with the principle of “undocumented” and “first-come, first-served”.

Allocation of gen.tr, biz.tr, tv.tr, web.tr, info.tr, bbs.tr, tel.tr and name.tr extensions will continue to be realized undocumented.

However, domain names with gov.tr, edu,tr, bel.tr, k12.tr, av.tr, dr.tr, pol.tr and kep.tr extensions will be allocated in a documented manner during the TRABIS period as before.

Domain Name Extensions to be Allocated Undocumented

COM.TR

It is a domain extension that is generally used for commercial purposes.

It will be allocated in accordance with the “first come, first served” principle with the operation of TRABIS while domain names with com.tr extension are allocated in the Nic.TR period based on official documents such as title documents or brand documents obtained from the Chamber of Commerce.

NET.TR

Net.tr extension is mostly preferred by organizations and individuals providing internet service.

This extension, which was documented in the pre-TRABIS period, will be allocated undocumented regarding the “first come, first served” principle in the new system.

ORG.TR

org.tr is a domain extension that is preferred by foundations, associations, non-governmental organizations etc.

This extension, which is allocated as a document during the Nic.TR period, has become one of the undocumented extensions with TRABIS. The allocation process will be performed with the “first come, first served” rule such as com.tr and net.tr extensions.

Domain Name Extensions to be Allocated Documented

The application conditions and documents for the domain names are listed below in the TRABIS process.

AV.TR – Lawyers, Law Agents, and Attorney Partnerships

It is required that the relevant domain name is compatible with the name and surname of the person who will be the owner of the domain name in applications to be performed for the person of a lawyer.

It is required that the relevant domain name is compatible with the name and surname of the partnership that will own the domain name or the lawyers in the office in applications for attorney partnership or law agents.

Necessary documents:

- Notarized copy of the current document or a document proving that the person who will own the domain name in individual applications is a lawyer from the bar association of the province where he is registered.

- A document proving that such person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the person, law agent, or attorney partnership in applications performed by the person or persons authorized to represent a person, a law agent, or the attorney partnership.

- Current documents or notarized copies of these documents indicate that each lawyer in the office or partnership that will own the internet domain name is a lawyer from the bar association of the province where they are registered in applications for a law agent or attorney partnership.

BEL.TR – Municipalities in the Records of the Ministry of Interior

It is required that bel. tr domain name must be compatible with the name of the relevant municipality.

Necessary documents:

Official request letter signed by the competent authority of the municipality.

DR.TR – Medical Doctors, Doctor Partnerships

It is required that the requested domain name must be compatible with the name and/or surname of the person who will be the owner of the domain name.

The requested domain name must be compatible with the name and/or surname of the doctors in the partnership that will own the domain name in applications for doctor partnership.

Necessary documents:

- Notarized copy of diploma or graduation documents proving the medical doctorate of the person who will own the domain name

- Notarized copy of diploma or graduation documents related to a medical doctorate of each person in the partnership who will be the domain name owner in doctor partnership applications

- Document proving that such person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the individual or doctor partnership in applications performed by the person or persons authorized to represent the person or the doctor partnership.

EDU.TR – Higher Education Institutions Admitted by YOK

It is allocated to higher education institutions admitted by the Council of Higher Education.

It is required that the domain name requested in the application is compatible with the name of the relevant higher education institution.

Necessary documents:

- Request letter signed by the applicant’s official

- A document proving that such person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the relevant party in applications performed by the person or persons authorized to represent parties that are not public institutions and organizations.

GOV.TR – Public Institutions and Organizations

It is allocated to public institutions and organizations.

Necessary documents:

- Official request letter signed by the applicant’s competent authority

K12.TR – Ministry of National Education (MEB), Pre-School Education Organization affiliated to MEB or Approved by MEB, Organizations such as Private Nursery, Day Nursing Home, Private Kids Club approved within the scope of the relevant legislation of the Ministry of Primary Education, High School and Equivalent Educational Institutions and the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.

It is allocated to the Ministry of National Education, an organization that provides pre-school education affiliated with the Ministry of National Education or approved by the Ministry of National Education, primary education, high school, and equivalent educational institutions, Private Nursery and Day Care Centers and institutions approved by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.

It is required that the domain name is compatible with the name of the institution or organization applied for.

Necessary examples:

- Request letter signed by the applicant’s official

- Notarized copy of the establishment permit issued by the competent authorities for parties that are not public institutions and organizations

- Document proving that such person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the relevant party in applications performed by the person or persons authorized to represent parties that are not public institutions and organizations

KEP.TR – Registered Electronic Mail Service Providers Authorized by ICT

Allocation of kep.tr domain extensions will be documented.

It is allocated to KEPHSs authorized by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (ICT).

It is required to be in hsY.kep.tr format and to comply with the “Y” number determined by the ICT for the relevant KEPHS.

Necessary documents:

Document proving that this person or persons are authorized to take the relevant action on behalf of the relevant KEPHS in applications performed by the person or persons authorized to represent KEPHS.

POL.TR – GDS and its Units

It is allocated to the General Directorate of Security and its units.

Necessary documents:

- Official request letter signed by the competent authority

TSK.TR – Units in the Turkish Armed Forces

It is allocated to the units in the Turkish Armed Forces.

Necessary documents:

Official request letter signed by the competent authority of the General Staff
